About
Nicole Post
Born on the Dutch coast in 1968, with the salty sea air and the sound of waves as the background music of my childhood. My father passed on his love for nature, culture, and creativity at an early age. A precious gift that would shape my life. As a child, I saw the world through forms, images, scents, and colors. To me, everything had the potential to become more beautiful, and I felt a quiet calling to bring beauty to life.
Since the end of 2024, I’ve been living in the beautiful Lecrín Valley in Granada. A new beginning where I’ve reconnected with silence, nature, and light.
In 1990, I started at the Dutch Art Academy, faculty of Fine Arts and Design, where I graduated as a Graphic Designer and drawing and painting teacher. During my studies, I discovered my love for life drawing, an honest, direct form of expression that deeply moved me and made me feel free.
From 1997 onwards, I worked as an independent Graphic Designer/Art Director within my own design agencies. Together with fellow creatives, I designed a wide range of spatial, graphic, and multimedia projects. From government communications to exhibition concepts, from museum branding to campaigns for non-profit organizations and multinationals. Conceptual thinking and translating ideas into visuals were my strengths. But deep inside, a longing began to grow for more personal, intuitive creation.
The Naked Truth
In 1999, my own truth came to light. I felt it was time to no longer use my creativity solely for commercial purposes, but to bring it back to its source: myself. I began an inner journey, a healing process that started with a pencil and a blank page. I said “yes” to everything that wanted to unfold, even that which had remained hidden for so long.
I call this journey The Naked Truth. To me, it means allowing my whole being, embracing vulnerability, honoring both light and shadow. It is living in the now, fully, sensitively, and without judgment.
“My work is an expression of feeling, of raw emotion and quiet beauty. An intuitive translation that touches the viewer, often wordlessly, but deep within.”
My Work
My artworks are tender, intuitive explorations of the female nude. I prefer to work with natural materials and layered techniques: Indian ink, graphite, charcoal, old book pages, and gold leaf. On paper, wood, or canvas. Each material tells its own story.
Gold leaf plays a special role in my work. It is a time-consuming craft, but the process is meditative and healing. To me, gold symbolizes the inner light we all carry, the divine within us. My inspiration comes from life drawing sessions, classical nudes through the ages, and the present day. Every body, female or male, has its own story, shape, proportion, and beauty. That fascinates me.
Since 2021, my work has been exhibited in various locations throughout the Netherlands. And now, with my studio nestled among the hills of the Lecrín Valley, I feel grateful and proud to be able to share my work here in Spain as well.
My first exhibition in Spain takes place on the 23 rd of May, at a special location: The Chicken Farm Gallery at Orgiva, a new beginning, bathed in light.
