Light & Reflection: the gold Leaf series

Applying ultra-thin layers of 24-carat gold leaf is a slow and meditative process. It demands complete focus, patience and presence. Each layer is applied by hand, allowing the work to evolve naturally through silence and careful attention.

Gold is never used as decoration. Within this series, it represents the quiet inner light that remains present throughout every stage of life, even when it is hidden beneath layers of experience, loss or change.

Combined with the raw textures of charcoal, Indian ink and weathered book pages, the gold responds to the changing Spanish light of the valley. As the light shifts, the work transforms, gently revealing new reflections and reminding us that our essence remains whole, resilient and deeply valuable.
