This is not your average painting class, and we are not making a superficial picture. The layered goddess is a three-day workshop full of depth, substance, and insights. A journey inward where we translate your inner world onto the canvas. During this premium 3-day workshop, we leave the familiar rules behind. It will be a unique mix of your personal archetype and Andalusian symbolism. You will go home with a powerful, layered self-portrait where your own face and your inner strength connect, a lasting memory for your wall. The program: From chaos to insight
Day 1: Structure, texture & chaos
Releasing control: We start with a short, intensive writing session inspired by The Artist's Way to instantly bypass any pressure to perform. This text forms your foundation.
The valley on your canvas: We take a sensory silence walk through the valley to gather natural elements that speak to you along the way.
Intuitive color: Back in the studio, we process your freshly written pages and natural finds onto the canvas to build a robust base texture. We finish with the first, transparent layers of color where feeling sets the tone. No face yet, pure emotion.
Day 2: Bringing the portrait to light
Words become art: You choose a goddess archetype that resonates with you right now (such as The wise woman, The warrior, or The free spirit) and scratch or write your own statements directly into the wet paint.
No drawing anxiety: With my 30 years of experience, I will provide you with a simple technique to sketch the contours of your face with rough charcoal over the first week's layer, completely without fear.
Negative space: You learn how to paint around the face using opaque, deep tones (like recognizable terracotta or midnight blue), making your portrait break through the chaos in a mysterious and powerful way.
Day 3: Manifestation & Andalusian symbolism
The palette knife: We put the fine brushes aside. You learn how to use thick, pastose paint strokes to sculpt the light and structure in the face and hair. Raw and pure.
Local symbolism: We weave Andalusian symbols into the artwork that resonate with your chosen archetype and your personal journey. We refine and complete the painting into a layered masterpiece with a beautifully weathered look.
The vernissage: We close this intensive three-day journey with a festive presentation and a toast to the insights gained and your brand-new, layered masterpiece.
Practical information
Duration: 18, 19 and 20 November from 15:00 to 18:00.
Location: My studio in Talara, Lecrín valley.
Inclusives: Quality canvas, all professional paints, mediums, and mixed-media materials (worth € 50,-), coffee/thee with treats.
Introductory rate: € 225,- (all-in for the 3 days, payment in advance).
